Beta
The playa, in your AI assistant
PlayaOS is an MCP server — the open protocol assistants use to reach real tools. Connect it to ChatGPT or Claude and your assistant can search events and art, run your packing list, browse the marketplace, and answer questions about your camps. Free, like the rest of the gift.
What your assistant can do
Ask the playa
Search registered events and art installations, pull playa stats, and find camps similar to the ones you love — without opening a browser tab.
Pack by conversation
Your assistant reads the community packing list plus your own items, sets have / need / packed / camp-has, and tracks which bag or tote everything lives in.
Trade and find
Search the public marketplace and post your own listings — a bike, a shade structure, a ride share — straight from the chat.
Your camps, in scope
Belong to a camp on PlayaOS? Ask about your shifts and campmates. Your assistant sees exactly what you can see — no more, no less.
Things to try
- “What art installations are out in deep playa this year?”
- “Add rebar caps and a dust mask to my packing list.”
- “Which of my packing items aren't in a tote yet?”
- “Search the PlayaOS marketplace for a playa bike.”
- “When is my next kitchen shift?”

The gift-layer data is public, but access to it isn't anonymous — every tool needs an account, so your packing list and listings are yours. Sign up here; it takes a minute and costs nothing.
Connect your assistant
ChatGPT
Enable developer mode under Settings → Connectors → Advanced, add a connector with the URL below, and pick OAuth — ChatGPT walks you through signing in. Packing items even render as rich interactive cards.
Claude
In Claude.ai or Claude Desktop, go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, name it PlayaOS, and paste the URL below.
OpenClaw, Hermes & agent harnesses
Agent harnesses connect over the same MCP endpoint, or via the open-source skill pack and CLI — copyable setup prompts here.
Claude Code & other MCP clients
claude mcp add --transport http playaos-public https://api.playaos.app/mcpThe endpoint for all of them:

Start with “Using PlayaOS, what events are on playa this year?” and go from there. Your assistant only ever sees what your account can see — connecting it never widens access to a camp.
It's a beta: expect rough edges, and a rate limit of 60 requests a minute. Clients that don't do OAuth can use a personal key from your developer dashboard. Found something broken or missing? Tell us.
The gift is ready when you are.
Give your camp a free portal, or take the free playa tools into ChatGPT and Claude. Either way, it costs nothing.
Building your camp's site yourself? The API, SDKs, and UI kit are part of the gift too.
